Alexandra Mackenzie is a multidisciplinary artist living in Montreal, Canada with disciplines in visual art and music. She is the electronic music producer, singer, and performer under the alias Petra Glynt.
She graduated from the Ontario College Of Art and Design University with Bachelor of Fine arts in printmaking, an artistic medium that complimented her love of drawing and supported her musical pursuits. She has exhibited her large-scale drawings, screen-printed wallpaper, installations, and animations in galleries with an inclination to create immersive experiences.
In 2013, Mackenzie released her self-produced EP with Toronto independent label Healing Power Records, launching her music career and consecutive years of performing and touring in her region. In October 2017, she released her debut self-produced album This Trip with 6-time Grammy nominated record producer Damian Taylor's new digital label imprint Vibe Over Method as his first release. The release was followed by a DIY Canadian tour and a European support tour with Doldrums.
Less than a year later on September 7th, 2018, she released her self-produced sophomore album with Toronto independent label Pleasance Records and set off on her first headlining American tour, followed by a mini support tour with The Blow.
She is currently composing the music for her follow-up release, producing everything live and hands-on with machines. See "Music," and "Petra Glynt," for her upcoming show dates.
